Adrian Hyyrylainen-Trett - Old Bexley & Sidcup
Liberal Democrats select experienced equality campaigner to fight blue wall Tory seat of Old Bexley & Sidcup.
Bexley Liberal Democrats have appointed Adrian Hyyrylainen-Trett to be their candidate for a General Election whenever it may be held during 2024. Adrian has stood in three previous General Elections for the party. He embraces the party’s inclusive values and their extensive international campaigning on human rights around the world.
Adrian comes originally from a Tory family background but has challenged the policies of Tory government. He wants to give everyone in the constituency a sensible and credible alternative candidate to vote for in this normally Tory seat which has been Conservative since it was created In 1983.
Adrian has lived in London for over 20 years and been part of London wide Liberal Democrat regional campaigns. He has seen the local challenges across outer London boroughs recognising that these are sometimes seen as peripheral issues.
As is traditional among Liberal Democrat candidates, Adrian will focus on local issues, being keen to help and support everyone from across the community. In the event of an unlikely but possible victory, he will of course devote his time to the people of the area and aims to move to the constituency.
Local party Chair, Paul Bargery, commented that” the Bexley Liberal Democrats are delighted to have such an experienced and well-known candidate to stand for the local party.” Adrian’s background and knowledge and campaigning experience should help to increase the Liberal Democrat vote locally.
